"... I was in your AP US History class during the 2004-2005 school year. ... Although I told you when I graduated, I really felt the need to say thank you again for all the lessons you taught me. I just graduated from St. John's University and started at Duke Law this past summer using the same hard work ethic I first learned from you. Being in your AP US History class was the first time I was presented with a serious challenge that I would have to work hard at to succeed. Without your encouragement I would have surely settled for mediocrity. To this day I still credit your class as the turning point in my academic career, and the foundational driving force behind my successes today. I could go on and on about the impact having a teacher who really cared and believed in me had and continues to have on me, but it all comes down to the same two words-- thank you."
